Patrick Rothfuss is an American fantasy writer and college lecturer. He is the author of the projected three-volume series The Kingkiller Chronicle. The first book of the series, The Name of the Wind, was published in 2007 by DAW/Penguin. It went on to receive critical acclaim and become a New York Times best seller.

In the interview, Patrick said that his relationship with his parents was great in the early stages and they loved and supported him.
To a question, he said that it took him 13 years before publishers even started to have a look at his writings.
